How Your Vehicle’s Air Conditioning Works
The air conditioning unit in your vehicle operates similarly to a refrigerator. Your vehicle’s air conditioning unit is designed to move heat from the inside of your car to outside of it. Your vehicle’s air conditioning unit has six major components: The refrigerant, compressor, condenser, expansion valve, evaporator, and receiver or dryer filters. If any of these components is damaged, it can turn your cool car into a furnace during the summer months. When your air conditioning unit is not working as it should, bring your vehicle to Reich’s Radiator & Auto Service.

Why is My Car Blowing Cold Air When the Heat is On?
Cold air from your heater is normal for the first few minutes of operation. If the air from your vents doesn’t heat up shortly, you’ve got a problem with your heater or your coolant. Your heating system borrows coolant (water and antifreeze) from the engine radiator, so if there isn’t enough coolant for both systems, the engine gets the available coolant. If you are having issues with your car’s heating system, call the experts at Reich’s Radiator & Auto Service.
Reich’s Radiator & Auto Service takes the time to thoroughly explain why your heater just won’t heat and discuss the best options for your budget. We’ll provide a free estimate before making any repairs.
